The CeBIT is not just about computers and IT. A lot of more interesting things are going on there. One day I met Dr. Rainer Giersch, director, business development Europe of the Ministry of Economic Development of British Columbia Canada. We had a pleasant talk about British Columbia and why it is such a great place to live, work, invest and play. He also talked with our CEO. Of course he was looking for company to invest in British Columbia. There is a website for those who are interested.
I must admit, up till that moment I did not know much about this region. But after this chat and doing some research I must say, it is quite an interesing place to go to as a company. It is just 9,5 hours from London and 10 hours from Tokyo. So it is a great gateway between Asia and the US.
It has one of the best, most cost-effective R&D environments in North America and a lot of money is invested right now for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2010.
The quality of life is great and it has a skilled workforce. Must be fun to go there once.
British Columbia is top!
